Somerville Homeless Coalition strives to fight homelessness, eviction, and food insecurity through our four core programs: Food Assistance, Street Outreach, Homelessness Prevention, and Supportive Housing. No matter how our clients end up at SHC, we meet them where they are and ensure they are given resources and assistance to help them thrive.

Emergency Assistance

Food Assistance

Project SOUP offers canned and fresh produce and often has protein items such as meat and poultry to people experiencing food insecurity.

Homelessness Prevention

Homelessness Prevention works to bring stability to households through individualized case management and through funding to assist with rental arrears, utility arrears, or start up costs.

Outreach & Shelter

Through our Outreach & Shelter programs, we work closely with clients on their journey to finding a home, never giving up on our clients.

Housing Search Assistance

SHC offers housing search and case management for homeless individuals through our Coordinated Entry program.

Supportive Housing

Our staff strives to nurture our homeless clients transitioning off the streets and out of emergency shelters by providing them with housing opportunities crucial for their safety and stabilization.
